Krista is passionate that understanding the mind/body connection is the key to improved mental health and wellbeing. She completed her Master of Social Work at Carleton University, and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW).
Krista's clinical experience includes the role of a Social Worker at The Ottawa Hospital, working in long-term care facilities and private practice, as well as participating in programs which improve the health of vulnerable children. She is Co-Director of the West Ottawa Wellness clinic, and a Facilitator/Consultant with the Crisis and Trauma Resource Institute where she delivers mental health-related training and workshops. As an EMDRIA-approved Consultant, Krista offers EMDR-related coaching and consultation services.
In her private practice, Krista is accepting clients experiencing grief and trauma. She is fully trained in EMDR and has undertaken additional related trainings such as IADC, ASSYST, and PRECI. Continuting professional development is important to Krista, and she has completed further training in areas such as the Safe and Sound Protocol, parts/ego state work, grief, trauma, dissociation, and Polyvagal Theory.
